Prague Castle

Experience Bohemian lifestyle in this luxury tour of Prague Castle. Originally constructed with wood and earthen walls as a Slavic fortress in 885, Prague Castle became the centre of the Bohemian era. As stone structures became popular, Prague Castle was rebuilt with stone during the 1135 to 1185 era. Our chauffeur-guide will show you remnants of the Romanesque style of architecture evident in the three-gate fortification and St Bartholomew’s Church. Under the reign of Charles IV, Prague became an archbishopric, and construction of the Gothic Cathedral of St Vitus began in 1333. Several architects including Mathias of Arrasin, Peter Parler, and Benedikt Ried made unique contributions to the palace. For a brief period, during the Hussite Wars, construction was interrupted. Wladyslaw Jagiello continued the Gothic tradition with renovations of the Royal Palace and the cathedral. Enjoy a private tour of the gardens, which is the abode of Queen Anna’s Summer Palace. Even after hundreds of years, most structures are full of life as if ready for another court session. Our chauffeur-guide will narrate interesting trivia from events at magnificent structures including the Vladislav Hall and the chapels. Besides a tour of the castle interiors and gardens, and views from the Royal Balcony, you’ll remember the stunning view of the castle at nighttimes as you leave for home.
